Singer-songwriter Brynn Elliott has announced today’s release of her new EP. CAN I BE REAL? is available now via Atlantic Records at all DSPs and streaming services CAN I BE REAL? explores themes of authenticity, honesty and freedom,” says Elliott, “all the while communicating those core themes of empowerment that I’m always seeking to write into my songs. However, this time around, it all hit closer to home during the writing process. ‘Tell Me I’m Pretty’ was just the tip of the iceberg. In seeking to sing about women finding the freedom to be themselves, I had to ask the question of myself: ‘Am I really being the most authentic and honest version of myself?’ That was not an easy question and it led to the completion of the EP and is now the question I ask myself everyday: Can I Be Real?”

CAN I BE REAL? is highlighted by the EP’s powerfully sincere title track, “Can I Be Real,” available today at all DSPs and streaming services. “Can I Be Real” is joined by an official music video premiering today across a range of MTV platforms, airing at the top of every music hour on MTV LIVE, MTV Biggest Pop, and MTVU. “Can I Be Real” is streaming now at the official Brynn Elliott YouTube channel

Recorded in Los Angeles and produced in large part by songwriting/production duo The Monarch (Kelly Clarkson, Nicki Minaj), CAN I BE REAL? sees Elliott expanding on the thoughtful yet emotionally potent lyricism of her 2018 debut, TIME OF OUR LIVES, infusing her vibrant alt-pop with undeniable warmth, unaffected charm, and a uniquely contemplative focus on identity, self-image, and finding one’s place in the world. The new EP includes a stellar series of recently released singles including “Without You,” “Letter To A Girl,” and “Tell Me I’m Pretty” all available now at all DSPs and streaming services.

Co-written with songwriter Michelle Buzz (Katy Perry, Kylie Minogue), “Tell Me I’m Pretty” ascended to the top 25 at Hot Ac radio outlets nationwide. Hailed by
Idolator in its online premiere as “a feel-good bop with a powerful message,” “Tell Me I’m Pretty” is joined by an official music video – filmed at a palatial estate on the Hudson River Palisades by Los Angeles-based photographer, creative director, and director Lauren Dunn (Kali Uschis, G-Eazy) – streaming now at YouTube following an exclusive broadcast premiere via MTV and NickMusic. In addition, a stripped down performance video, filmed live in DTLA, is streaming now.

TIME OF OUR LIVES proved a breakthrough debut for the Atlanta-born, Los Angeles-based Elliott upon its 2018 release, highlighted by the top 15 Hot AC smash, “Might Not Like Me,” available for individual streaming and download HERE; the track – which has earned over 43M global streams thus far – is joined by an equally popular official video, directed by Sarah McColgan (Kelly Clarkson, Charli XCX) and now boasting more than 4M YouTube views HERE following its broadcast premiere via MTV and MTVU and online premiere via Refinery29, which raved, “For every breakup tune in which the singer laments about love lost, there’s another that spins a split into an empowering life event. Kelly Clarkson has ‘Since U Been Gone.’ Katy Perry has ‘Part of Me.’ But it’s Brynn Elliott, a name not quite as recognizable (at least, not yet) whose breakup anthem ‘Might Not Like Me’ is also an ode to every woman who was made to feel smaller in a relationship for someone else’s benefit.

Elliott – who studied philosophy at Harvard but spent most of her weekends and summers on stage, playing over 200 shows both on her own and as special guest to such artists as Brandi Carlile, Grace Potter, and Alanis Morissette – celebrated TIME OF OUR LIVES with a series of national TV appearances, including NBC’s TODAY, the nationally syndicated Live with Kelly and Ryan, and MTV’s TRL. What’s more, Elliott supported the EP by traveling North America alongside such like-minded acts as AJ Mitchell, James Arthur, and Why Don’t We. The latter tour saw Elliott reaching her biggest audiences thus far, playing to more than 100,000 people over 18 sold out shows across the Unites States.
