Written, Directed and Produced by EMMY Award-winner Jerri Sher, the film is a story of healing and hope. It showcases personal journeys of a cross-section of society who have suffered Traumatic Brain Injury and PTSD, and the pioneering doctors who use innovative methods to treat this silent illness that affects millions of veterans, athletes and civilians worldwide.

Participating in the panel discussion will be the cast and crew, including EMMY Award-winner JERRI SHER, Author ANDREW MARR, Former Army Green Beret and Co-Founder of Warrior Angels Foundation, and 9/11 First Responder Sebastian Raspanti.

Inspired by the best-selling book Tales from the Blast Factory by Andrew Marr and his brother, Apache Pilot Adam Marr, this prestigious event will also celebrate the passage of new bill: HB 1802, which allows for the use of alternative therapies for treating post-traumatic stress disorder for Vets.

While HB 1802 required politicians to endorse the bill, leaders came together from across the political spectrum to recognize healing the brain was a humanitarian cause not a partisan one. This human mandate brought together Alex Dominguez, a South Texas Democrat, and Rick Perry, a former Trump cabinet appointee and Republican Governor, with members of the special operations community to champion this cause, winning near unanimous support from legislators from both parties.

This is a landmark achievement and an historic milestone that epitomizes the very essence of this national holiday.

Warrior Angels Foundations (https://warriorangelsfoundation.org) was born out of Andrew Marr’s personal road to recovery to provide the proper care and personalized treatment protocols to U.S. Military Service Members and Veterans suffering from PTSD and Brain Injuries caused by explosions and horrific injuries sustained during war.

As part of WAF treatment, education and outreach mission, the non-profit organization has recently joined forces with Heroic Hearts Projects (https://www.heroicheartsproject.org) who support their mission to provide hope and healing to military veterans that have been left hopeless by the current Veteran Affairs system and to spread awareness amongst the veteran community about alternative treatment for mental trauma.

The evening will take place at the Texas Capitol Building in Austin, hosted by Alex Dominguez from District 37 who commented, “U.S. Army Special Forces Green Beret (Ret.) Andrew Marr was a critical stakeholder in the passage of HB 1802, the landmark Veteran PTSD legislation that he helped shepherd through the Texas House.”  He added, “HB 1802 is the most critical step taken by our government to meet the crisis exemplified in QUIET EXPLOSIONS: Healing the Brain, which acknowledges the work still needed to honor the debt owed to our veterans.”

“The film is about healing and hope and coming out of our darkest hours. It is a real privilege to show the film to military families on this auspicious occasion.”  EMMY-winner Jerri Sher added, after spending three years following the lives of a cross-section of society overcoming depression, anxiety and suicidal tendencies.  “This is about the next chapter of light, eliminating the darkness and finding a little joy in each day.”

According to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) Traumatic Brain Injury (TBI) is a leading cause of death and disability in the U.S. and each year thousands of people's lives are impacted and ruined by TBI and PTSD.  “This is a silent illness that is often misdiagnosed and needs to be brought into the open for discussion about new methods and therapies that are available, which is the reason why I felt so compelled to make this film,” the director concluded.
