RISING ALT-POP STAR AU/RA RELEASES NEW SINGLE “BITE MARKS"

AU/RA

Following the release of her single “Dead Girl! (Shake My Head)” and her feature on the Jax Jones radio smash “i miss u,” Au/Ra has shared new single “Bite Marks” – a hypnotic alt-pop track with a psychedelic visual focusing on the sting of a heartbreak that you knew was coming. Written in LA with CJ Baran, the pair penned the entire song the first day they met while the video was recorded in Au/Ra’s home country of Antigua, where she has spent all of her time through lockdown. Watch HERE.

In speaking about the track, Au/Ra says: "Bite Marks" is about letting someone into your life knowing they could hurt you - that fear becoming reality, and feeling stupid for letting it happen. It’s about playing the fool, knowingly, and having to grow and live with the bite marks that leaves behind."

Ibiza-born to German parents and raised in Antigua, songwriter Au/Ra has created a unique and powerfully emotive world, filled with innovative original songs that explore the dark nature of humanity via strong melodies, evocative lyrics, and transcendent production.

Au/Ra’s astute, honest and exhilarating song writing and her real, relatable storytelling are inherent in everything she does creatively. From concept to fully realized product, every track and video has a distinctive plot. Aware that her fans are all experiencing similar things, from mental health issues and existentialism to her generation’s complex relationship with social media, her music is the embodiment to Gen Z’s hopes and fears.
