    The Uptown Ventures Group, the parent company of Uptown Magazine presented their annual, black tie, invitational-only “Uptown Honors Hollywood” Pre-Oscar Dinner Party Gala. The occasion was to celebrate “Women Directors in Television and Film.”

     The festive evening of course, began with a star studded red carpet receiving the beautiful ones as they arrived in style and on point looking glamorous, sexy and elegant to the max.

     Writer/producer of BET’s “Real Husbands of Hollywood,” Chris Spencer served as the programs’ Host.

     The magazine bestowed accolades to Dee Rees for her Oscar nomination on Netflix’s critically-acclaimed film “Mudbound.” Rees made history as the first African American woman to be nominated for writing and adapted screenplay. Director’s Gina Prince Bythewood (Fox’s “Shots Fired” and (“Beyond The Lights”), Stella Meghie (“Everything, Everything”) and actress/director Chandra Wilson (ABC-TV’s “Grey’s Anatomy”) complete the night’s four honorees.

   The venue for this setting was the LURE Nightclub in Hollywood. The club’s decor was beautifully laid out to the nines in Uptown Theme Style.
