RISING MEMPHIS RAPPER

A.R. THE MERMAID RETURNS WITH WILD NEW SINGLE & MUSIC VISUAL

“SNEAKY LINK”

Bubbling up to the forefront of the game, rising Memphis rapper, magnetic personality, and visionary rarity A.R. The Mermaid uncovers a brand new single and music video entitled “Sneaky Link. It notably marks her debut for 300 Entertainment. Listen HERE. Watch the video.

Quirky whistling encircles a bouncy bass line on the track as the hi-hats sizzle. Over this bright backdrop, A.R. The Mermaid drops hilarious (and regrettably relatable bars) as she laments, “I just left my sneaky link house. That bitch can’t keep a secret!” The colorful accompanying visual quite  literally brings these lyrics to life as she narrowly avoids being caught on the way out of a mid-morning tryst. Her outsized energy practically pops off the screen, and her quirky fashion sense and scorching style shine in each set piece.

Just coming up for air after a quiet grind, A.R. The Mermaid has buzzed out of Memphis as her city’s fieriest outlier. She has gained traction with the likes of “Let A Ho Play” and freestyles such as “No Motion.” At the same time, she has all the makings of a style icon with the vibrant presentation of a real-life anime heroine. She’s the ultimate modern Mermaid

HAVE YOU EVER SWAM WITH A MERMAID FROM MEMPHIS?

Wielding a sharp signature rasp, serving up scorching bars, and exerting a presence as overpoweringly magnetic as your favorite anime heroine, A.R. The Mermaid injects effusive and enigmatic energy into the culture. The Memphis-born native asserts herself as a fiery force with an inimitable and irresistible style. She honed her voice in church before auditioning for the R&B outfit Karma. At 15-years-old, she earned her spot in the group and hit the recording studio for the first time. Learning the ins and outs of the business, she developed her performance chops on tour with Mindless Behavior and The OMG Girls. Amicably parting ways with the group, she focused on her solo artistry.

Equally under the influence of anime a la High-Rise Invasion and Pokémon (Gengar inspired her eyebrows!) as well as Hoodrich Pablo Juan, YoungBoy Never Broke Again, Sauce Walka, and Money Man, she grabbed a mic and taught herself how to rap. Initially, she gained traction with “Try Me” in 2019. Fans clamored for more as she grew her social media following. “Come Outside” and “First Day Out” maintained her momentum before she caught fire with “Let A Ho Play.” Powered up by her uncontainable hustle, off-kilter rhymes, and undeniable chant, it reeled over 1 million cumulative views and streams. Not to mention, superstars such as SZA and K. Michelle touted it on social media, while Drake followed her. After piling up millions of views and streams and receiving plugs by Dirty Glove Bastard and AllHipHop.com, this energy defines a series of 2023 singles and her forthcoming debut for 300 Entertainment.
