Soulful songstress Y'Anna Crawley just released her
highly-anticipated EP "This Is Me" under her
independent label Sassy Soulstress Music. The EP is available today
wherever music is sold and streamed. “This Is Me” arrives just in time for the
new year, during a time where everyone has much to be thankful for
post-pandemic, reflecting on the trying year
and preparing for a new one. The six-track EP is Crawley's latest and most vulnerable body of work to date.
“This Is Me is authentically Me! I wanted to sing my heart’s position without constraint. It’s been a while since I released a body of work and I wanted to make sure I embodied the essence of me," says Y'Anna. "Every song has a specialty to it. Just give me 24 minutes of your time! Sit with the music and allow these songs to play as I tell a story through melodies and lyrics.”

It's been a while yeah I know
Because I was trying to figure this music thing out
What felt natural and fun to me
Now felt like "blah..whatever"
But then I started to miss it
I had gotten too far away from it
And so I thought "Yanni, we aren't going to focus On whether this is considered a hit
We are going to do this because you love music"
I decided to open up my heart and listen to what My soul had to say and it felt so good
Y’Anna Crawley was the 2009 (Season II Winner)
of BET’s Sunday Best. She’s a native Washingtonian, product of DC Public
Schools, and proud alum of Eastern High School. While she was a student at
Eastern, she was a member of its award-winning Choir, and mentored by its
director Dr. Joyce Garrett. Her love for music and heart for people are
what keeps her motivated and dedicated to
her gift. Y’Anna has sang
background vocals for a variety of artists to include, Genobia Jeter-Jones,
Glenn Jones, Raheem DeVaughn, Angie Stone, Chrisette Michelle, Jennifer Lopez,
& Ledisi.
Her debut release “The Promise” features production from the award winning team of Lou “Busta” Brown & Scott “Shavoni” Parker who are also responsible for hits from music industry veterans Kirk Franklin as well as Yolanda Adams. Her freshman effort was released through a joint partnership between BET Network/Universal Distribution. This release debuted at #2 on bill board’s gospel Charts, and Y’Anna won the coveted Stellar Award in 2012 for Best New Artist of the Year. She has also released successful singles We Need You and In You Produced by Aaron Sledge prior time her first album. Y’Anna has shown her skills and love for the camera by appearing on Own Networks "Greenleaf" and "A Question of Faith" film debut in 2018. She is also currently worshipping and serving at Global impact Ministries in Atlanta, serving under Pastor Coylitia Oneal.
Y’anna has dedicated her time over this past year to her Life’s Memoir a Book “PIECES OF ME, PIECED TOGETHER BY YOU” that she released in 2019. She is making new headlines around the world for her handmade “Body Butta” that she released last year in April.
