"The History Tour" is a show 2 years in the making, as the famed NYC dance and electronic duo have not stepped on stage together to perform live since 2019. With a forthcoming album on the way, fresh visuals, and a renewed energy to bring everyone together, The Knocks are back to throw their wildly popular dance party once again! Their high energy show will be visiting cities across the US, delivering their signature live electronic performance in addition to their genre-spanning DJ sets.
The Knocks "Bodies"
With touring halted to a standstill during the global lockdown, the guys decided to dedicate their time to the studio. Beginning with fan-favorite "Bodies," a collab with the indie pop band MUNA, the two acts combined forces for a breath of fresh electro-pop air, which included a remote performance of the single on Jimmy Kimmel LIVE!, filmed in various locations across the country. Their follow up, "All About You" featuring alt favorites Foster The People, reached the top 15 at US Alternative Radio while also landing TikTok's End of Year Wrapped ad campaign song. This was the second time the duo have collaborated with the band, the first being their 2018 break-out hit "Ride or Die." From there, The Knocks looked internationally to link up with buzzy indie-pop darling Mallrat on a song called "R U HIGH," which reached number 1 on Australian radio's Triple J ' 'Most Played' Chart. Most recently, the guys released an emotionally driven, yet danceable, electronic tune called "River" ft. Parson James, a LGBTQ love story about relationships.
Never to shy away on the collaboration front, The Knocks kept us singing and dancing just about anywhere we could. “Fireworks,” a 2021 collaboration between The Knocks, Purple Disco Machine and Moss Kena, was the warm international summer hit we all needed. Racking up well over 120 million streams to date, going platinum in Italy, and reaching the top 20 GLOBALLY on the airplay charts, the disco-tinged single continues to be played around the world. Never one to be put into a particular box or genre, the duo also were involved in a slew of sonic-bending songs, combining forces with artists including dance polymath Idris Elba on "One Fine Day," alternative rock legend Rivers Cuomo of Weezer with "Sound the Alarm", and electro pop group The Studio Killers on "Bedroom Eyes," which featured a music video starring viral star Casey Frey and Dad.
The prolific NYC dance music luminaries The Knocks deliver a carefree electronic sound that draws from soul, funk, disco, hip hop, house, and pop. Comprised of James Patterson and Ben Ruttner, the duo have been producing a dizzying array of danceable New York inspired music for a decade now, bringing their DJ sets and live performances all over the world alongside superstars such as The 1975, Justin Bieber, and Ellie Goulding among others.
They have released 2 full length albums [55, New York Narcotic], 5 EP's, and performed their hit singles 'Ride or Die', 'Best Friend', and 'Bodies' on US late night TV shows including Stephen Colbert, Jimmy Fallon, Jimmy Kimmel, and Seth Meyers. The Knocks’ “Ride or Die” and "All About You,” both featuring Foster the People, reached #11 and #14 respectively on the US alt radio chart. In addition, their collaboration with Sofi Tukker "Best Friend" has accumulated more than 200 million streams across platforms to date. Known for their collaborative prowess, The Knocks have worked with artists across the musical spectrum, ranging from indie [Foster The People, MGMT, Will Butler of Arcade Fire], hiphop [Cam'ron, Big Boi, Method Man], dance [Purple Disco Machine, Odesza, Louis The Child], and pop [Carly Rae Jepsen, MNEK, Charli XCX].
