South Central spitter NCognita is closing out the year with a special mini docuseries titled Nita Unfiltered. As the world begins to open back up, viewers will get a closer look at the lyricist’s artistic process and personality as she journeys back to Loyola University New Orleans, in “Ep 1. Dedication”, available now via YouTube. This comes on the heels of NCognita’s Short N Sweet series, where she consistently spit fire week after week with four back-to-back visual vignettes. First up was the quick bop, “Blame It On The Hip Hop,” taking us through the streets of South Central and introducing us to her lyrical dexterity while effortlessly switching flows.

Next up was “Smoove,” a laid back Cali vibe set in the backyard with her crew. The third installment, “Higher Please,” brought us back to her childhood for reflection and truly showcased her versatility as an artist. She closed it out with a rapid-fire onslaught of elite wordplay and commanding bars in “illMATIC.” Her Short N Sweets boasted how her strengths translate exceptionally well from pen to paper, to the mic.

The Short N Sweet series followed her hard-hitting “Gangsta Lean,” which served as a follow up to 2020’s high-energy "Hallucinogen (Trippin)" and "Clap Clap." The Los Angeles native was encouraged at an early age to turn to writing as a therapeutic form of self-expression, with poetry quickly becoming her first love. With her passion for the written and spoken word cemented by the time she entered high school, NCognita's vibrant musical upbringing helped her come into her own as an emerging rapper + creative force.

During her senior year at the LA County High School for the Arts, NCognita began embracing music in a more serious capacity and decided to continue her education at Loyola University New Orleans. Currently a junior at the esteemed institution, NCognita is grinding in every sense of the word, balancing her schoolwork as an Urban Electronic Music Production major while nurturing her own artistry, with each area of focus helping inform the other. With an empowered mission to create from a place of honesty and genuine intention, NCognita’s up next.
