Foster Drops New Romantic Rap Single

"as long as I have you"

Nashville-based newcomer Foster continues to prove why he is an artist to watch with his new melodic lo-fi hip-hop single “as long as i have you.” Penned about the to’s and throw’s of adolescent love, it’s a charming tune that draws on a memory of young love that we either remember fondly, or wish we could have had.

Speaking about the new single, Foster says: “‘as long as i have you’ is the reminiscence of a fictional story, there were times in which I was so emotionally involved it felt as if it were my current reality. Playing with the idea of being in a teenage relationship was very nostalgic for me, not because I was in one, but because I had always wanted to be. Because of these two emotional ties, the creative process was very fluid. Considering the story is fictional, I felt liberated to push it in any direction I wanted and create my own rollercoaster of emotions, which is something I’m not used to when it comes to writing. It felt very freeing.

“as long as i have you” follows on from Foster’s recent collaboration with Sarcastic Sounds & Sody. “fools (can’t help falling in love) takes from Elvis’ classic and continues to grow, having amassed nearly 50 million combined global streams to date. The song also went on to be a part of 50k creations on TikTok including a viral moment on Urban Theory

ABOUT FOSTER

Colin Foster Taylor was born in Chattanooga and raised in Nashville TN. Foster grew-up in a very musical family. He started writing and recording all his own songs around 8 years ago and would consistently post on SoundCloud. His SoundCloud has now accumulated over 2 million streams, with significant streams on Spotify, Apple and other DSPs since releasing his collaboration with Sody. Foster takes inspiration from a number of different artists ranging from Mac Miller, John Mayer, to The Beatles. You will hear echoes of these and other artists in his music. Foster enjoys telling stories with his music. He will often pull from other’s experiences and mix them with his own, and this writing process creates a very raw and genuine sound. He spends a lot of time setting the vibe for each song by what is going on around him. Foster is currently a senior at Belmont University in Nashville and is set to graduate in November with a degree in songwriting.
