MOTOWN GOSPEL SIGNS LATOCHA
OF MULTI-PLATINUM GROUP XSCAPE

Motown Gospel (a division of Capitol CMG/Capitol and Universal Music Group) announces the signing of award-winning artist LaTocha to an exclusive license agreement via her own label, Made Girl Music. A multi-hyphenate force in the music industry, LaTocha is best known as a member of the multi-platinum-selling R&B group Xscape, providing leads on some of the group’s biggest songs, including "Who Can I Run To” and “The Arms of the One Who Loves You.”

“It has always been a passion of mine to do inspirational music,” says LaTocha. “It has been my foundation, and that is very evident, even when I sing R&B music. I can’t escape that.”

LaTocha   "How Excellent Is Thy Name"

For the powerhouse songstress, the interplay of music and faith began at Mt. Olive Church of God in Holiness, in her hometown of College Park, GA. She leaned on that foundation even as she became a household name in one of the biggest girl groups in R&B history.

“A hallmark of LaTocha’s successful career has been her love for gospel music and her strong personal connection to the Black church,” shares Monica Coates, Co-Executive Director, Motown Gospel. “I am excited for her fans—long-standing and new—to finally have a body of work that reflects those areas of her passion.”

Adds EJ Gaines, Co-Executive Director of Motown Gospel: “LaTocha has one of the most recognized voices in R&B, but she also has staying power and manages to maintain relevance in a marketplace that doesn’t always allow for that. I can’t wait for her fans to hear what she’s been working on.”

LaTocha is readying her debut inspirational project, slated for release this year. Fans can stay connected with LaTocha via her social media channels-- @iAmLaTocha on Instagram, TikTok, Twitter and Facebook.

In 2018 LaTocha gave birth to her company, Made Girl, promoting health, wellness, and the importance of living a balanced life. Through it, LaTocha released her first cookbook in 2020—LaTocha’s Planted Lifestyle, a collection of homemade recipes for classic dishes, including mac ‘n’ cheese, spinach dip, lasagna, and more. Made Girl also boasts a line of high-performance athleisure-wear to make all women feel empowered and ready to win, in any situation. Its philanthropic arm, the Made Girl Foundation, serves to build prolificity in women through teaching arts and music (TAM). The Made Girl Foundation’s mission is to encourage young girls and women to tap into their confidence, fearlessness, and determination to become who they are destined to be.

  INTRODUCING MACEI K
WATCH THE CHARASMATIC SIXTEEN YEAR OLD STAR IN NEW MUSIC VIDEO "GIMME DAT"

Baton Rouge born - now Houston based rapper and YouTube star Macei K releases her newest song "Gimme Dat" via Signal/Columbia Records. The vibrant sixteen year old boasts confidence and charm in the Ajayvis directed music video.

Macei K   "Gimme Dat"

Combining versatile flows and the born confidence of a teenage prodigy, Macei K delivers ruthless flexes with a playful smirk. Since releasing her neon debut single “Straight A’s” at age 6, the Signal/Columbia Records signee from Baton Rouge has cultivated a legion of fans through charismatic raps and a side hustle as a YouTuber with nearly 1 million subscribers. But make no mistake: The music comes first. Macei proves that point with “Copy That,” a pulsing anthem laced with braggadocio and quippy put-downs for would-be haters.

Years before she had a work ethic to be proud of, Macei K - now 16 - was a regular kid in Baton Rouge. As a small child, she remembers area classics  from the likes of Boosie Badazz and Kevin Gates soundtracking car rides with her mother. “I grew up around them,” she says, recalling the days she hung out with Boosie’s son Tootie Raww. Surrounded by those sounds from an early age, it wasn’t long before Macei sought to create songs of her own. At the age of 6, she did

One day a decade ago, Macei gripped a sheet of lyrics her older sister had written for her and recorded “Straight A’s,” a feisty single that was accompanied by a music video shot at her elementary school. Within days, it had racked up tens of thousands of views—and before Macei could complete her times tables, the song became as inescapable as her eventual career path. “Everywhere I went, everybody was singing ‘Straight A’s,’” she says. “It gave me that spark.”

But Macei knows there’s work to do, and that begins with her new music, which she says is the best she’s ever made. With new music comes increased exposure, but Macei isn’t pressed about the extra attention. “Other people’s opinions don’t matter,” she says. “I gotta stay focused no matter what. I just gotta keep going.”
