BIIG PIIG SHARES NEW TRACK “KEROSENE” VIA RADIO 1’S HOTTEST RECORD

LONDON + DUBLIN HEADLINE SHOWS ANNOUNCED FOR NOVEMBER

"Chaos chases Biig Piig - and Biig Piig chases chaos right back" The Face

“Unfiltered, empowering anthems from Irish star’s genre-busting new era” NME

“Weaving in and out of introspective thoughts on escapism, romances, work and friendships between English and Spanish”
The Observer

"Razor sharp lyrical observations about the angst and emotions of youth" Dazed & Confused

"Few artists capture the smoke-filled haze of adolescence quite like Biig Piig" Crack

Biig Piig has shared brand new track “Kerosene,” which premiered as Radio 1’s Hottest Record over the long weekend. The first offering of a new project to come, “Kerosene” follows Biig Piig’s summer single FUN,” which was playlisted at Radio 1 and 6Music, saw a recent remix from hotly-tipped artist-producer Yuné Pinku, and was a highlight of Biig Piig’s global run of festivals where she teased new music.

BIIG PIIG   "Kerosene"

Conceived by Biig Piig alongside “Feels Right” collaborators Zach Nahome and Maverick Sabre, “Kerosene” is a suitably combustible fusion of lust and release. Twisting Biig Piig’s own spin on dance music with hyperreal imagery containing easter eggs of her story thus far (and the story to come), Biig Piig introduces “Kerosene” as “the first track off a wider project I’m working on. It’s about wanting someone to rip my clothes off, and the tension of that relationship…my own hot girl summer anthem, tbh.”

Biig Piig has surprised fans with some much anticipated live news with details of her first London show since 2019: she will play two intimate nights at the beautiful Hoxton Hall on November 3 and 4 before heading to Ireland for two nights at Dublin’s Sound House on November 9 and 10. Early tickets are available for fans who are signed up to Biig Piig’s mailing list. Fans will receive a ticket link via e-mail on Wednesday, 9/7 with the on-sale beginning at 10AM local time. Tickets go on sale to the general publich on September 9 at 10AM. Having quickly sold out dates in the UK ranging from Village Underground to EartH pre-pandemic, Biig Piig’s live return is not to be missed.

Biig Piig is one of modern pop’s genuine one-offs, a fearless artist who has come of age across a period of experimentation and self-evaluation. From the trilogy of DIY EPs she dropped as a teenager onwards, Biig Piig has moved between genres and stories with songs that speak effortlessly of youth culture. Along the way, Biig Piig has grown a vast global audience for her instantly-identifiable, bilingual voice: with over 200 million streams, and wider co-signs ranging from Billie Eilish and the late Virgil Abloh to Lil Nas X and Clairo. Like much of her hugely eclectic catalogue to date, there is a more introspective side to Biig Piig than may meet the eye: standalone recent single “FUN” took the cautionary, ride-or-die relationship at the heart of the track to darkly cinematic territory, with the dancefloor hedonism of “Kerosene” again cut through with Biig Piig’s confessional lyrical candour.

Opening a new chapter in her life between Los Angeles and London, “Kerosene” introduces a Biig Piig project to follow her intoxicating lockdown EP, The Sky Is Bleeding, on top of huge dates alongside the likes of Glass Animals, Jungle, and collaborations ranging from Metronomy to ongoing work with her trailblazing crew, NiNE8 Collective. An undeniable star now coming into her own as an artist and young woman, watch out for more from Biig Piig to follow soon.

NYC-based collective MICHELLE shares two new live videos of “MY FRIENDSand “FIRE ESCAPE,” standout tracks from the band’s acclaimed sophomore album AFTER DINNER WE TALK DREAMS, released via Atlantic Records/Canvasback Music in March of 2022. Directed by filmmaker Greg Corn, these acoustic live takes were filmed on the rooftop and fire escape of band member Jamee Lockard’s apartment.

MICHELLE is also announcing a new string of headline US + UK/EU dates on The Lavender Tour (tickets here), kicking off on October 31st in Durham, NC and culminating in Brussels, Belgium on November 17th, as well as including performances at Pitchfork Music Festival London and Paris.

Other upcoming festival appearances include the Lorde and Mitski-headlined All Things Go Music Festival on October 1st outside of DC, and Canvasback labelmate Briston Maroney’s self-curated Paradise Fest on November 4th at Brooklyn Bowl in Maroney’s home base of Nashville, TN.

This week, MICHELLE wraps up part one of The Lavender Tour, which began with a festival appearance at
This Ain’t No Picnic in Los Angeles, then saw the band traverse North America from San Diego to Chicago to Toronto. On Wednesday, September 14th, the band will close out this late summer headline run at Lark Hall in Albany, NY.

Released in early 2022, AFTER DINNER WE TALK DREAMS marked the band’s full-length debut for Canvasback Music (Transgressive in the UK). Featuring singles “POSE,” “SYNCOPATE,and “MESS U MADE,” the album bears all the hallmarks of MICHELLE’s music – layered vocal harmonies, analog synthesizers, vibrant percussion, and smoldering hooks.

The record was recently named to Billboard’s “10 Best Pride Albums of 2022,” joining the critical acclaim the project received upon release from outlets including Pigeons & Planes, NME, InterviewPaste and more. The group was named to Entertainment Weekly’s “9 Artists to Watch in 2022,” with the outlet calling their music "the kind of breezy, timeline-cleansing tunes our overstimulated brains are begging for right now."

In June, the band followed up their LP release with a special two-track project dubbed THE SIDE DISHES, featuring two new songs, “FOOL 4 Uand “SEA SHANTY(listen here).

This past spring, MICHELLE played a sold-out show at New York’s Bowery Ballroom, which followed touring earlier in the year opening for Mitski on select dates. They also played a sold-out show at London’s iconic alternative venue Electrowerkz, and a set at UK festival The Great Escape which received rave reviews from fans and press alike (an ecstatic, joyful celebration… sharp and ambitious collective musicality”  NME).

Born-and-bred New Yorkers, MICHELLE formed in 2018 and is comprised of Sofia D’Angelo, Julian Kaufman, Charlie Kilgore, Layla Ku, Emma Lee and Jamee Lockard. The predominantly POC and queer collective mix and match the writing and production groups amongst the six of them. Their debut album HEATWAVE was self-released, featuring stand-out single “THE BOTTOM.”

DREAMS is the collective main-character moment for the alt-pop group, whether clearing out for a solo dancefloor moment on ‘POSE’… or counting down to a sexy apocalypse on ‘END OF THE WORLD.’ Even on the songs that call out for extra company, the outfit sounds totally in control — not easily shocked and dominating the crosswalk.”
