LIVE PERFORMANCE VIDEO

London-based singer/songwriter Valencia Grace continues to deliver with her latest enchanting, hopeful new song “What A Shame.” She sings “What a shame it would be if the wind blew out my flame” and touches on stopping at nothing to make her dreams become a reality. Alongside the song release, Valencia has also shared a stripped-down, one-take performance video of the song, which perfectly displays her impressive wide vocal range. The track can also be heard on tour this year when Valencia supports fellow newcomer renforshort in the UK & Europe.

Valencia Grace  "What A Shame"

Valencia says “What A Shame” was “one of the earlier songs I wrote. I was feeling overwhelmed because I set such high expectations for myself. I wrote it as a reminder that things take time. It takes time to figure out who you are and to heal, and I don’t need to be so hard on myself when I feel things aren’t going my way. It’s a comfort song for me.”

One of the most impressive qualities of Valencia’s music is the clear influence she takes from other artists with strong, powerful voices, such as Etta James, Aretha Franklin, and Amy Winehouse. Inspired by these incredible women, Valencia discovered the powers of her own voice and how it can connect her with people around the world.

Only three singles in and Valencia has already found supporters in peers such as Sam Fender who invited her to support him in his recent Los Angeles show. She’s also garnered tastemaker support from the likes of BBC Radio 1, The Line of Best Fit, Notion, V Magazine, 1883 and Dork to name a few.

Stay tuned for more from Valencia Grace!
